Successful Six Sigma Skills Bootcamps come to Aycliffe

Optimum Skills are opening their doors to businesses across Aycliffe Business Park and beyond to provide cost-effective training solutions through Government-funded Skills Bootcamps .

Their Skills Bootcamps in Six Sigma Principles have proven to be one of the most popular with companies across various sectors , with manufacturing and production businesses taking full advantage of the course .
In the words of Optimum Skills , Six Sigma is a set of tools and techniques used by organisations to ‘ minimise their input and maximise their output ’.
The course is delivered at a yellow belt and green belt level , the starting point of businesses that have not previously utilised Six Sigma .
For businesses with no prior knowledge of Six Sigma , Optimum Skills ’ team of business development managers have themselves taken part in a short version of the course , with one of the course tutors , Lynda .
The team say that having this knowledge means they are in a better position to provide businesses with the right information and can assess what their business might need from the course .
Some of the elements of the course include identifying and fixing areas of waste , streamlining business operations and fully utilising resources and processes for maximum effectiveness .
The Six Sigma programme incorporates ‘ Lean Thinking ,’ ensuring a thorough understanding of a company ’ s training requirements and processes , thereby facilitating the seamless integration of Six Sigma tools and techniques .
The training curriculum emphasises essential philosophies and methodologies such as Kaizen , DMAIC , Heijunka , 5S , and more .
Participants develop and execute a project in their workplace , bridging classroom theory as well as implementing this into the business , to see the return of investment straight away . The course is presently underway at the Optimum Skills Middlesbrough Hub , with a new cohort set to commence in Aycliffe this spring .
However , Optimum Skills understands business needs and are equipped to deliver these workshops at a business ’ s premises , tailoring them to their specific business needs .
“ Our business development team are eager to discuss how they can enhance the local community and cater to your business requirements ,” said senior business development manager Darcy Marisha .
“ Feel free to reach out to us ; we ’ re a friendly bunch and would be delighted to engage with you .”
Some of the current participants of the Skills Bootcamp in Six Sigma Principles have shared their experiences .
Kieran Evans said : “ The course has been so helpful in the development of my problemsolving skills , and I have met some great people too .”
