Aycliffe firm Stiller creating 20 new jobs after winning major contract
STILLER Warehousing and Distribution is creating new jobs after being awarded new business with a global manufacturer .
The agreement will see Stiller – already known for its storage and distribution footprint in the North-East – grow its packing and fulfilment operations .
Stiller Warehousing and Distribution is already fitting out a 41,500 sq ft unit on Aycliffe Business Park to accommodate the new line of work which will create up to 20 new roles .
Stiller is repurposing a former engineering building on Grindon Way , next to Durham Way South , into an assembly and packing facility .
They ’ re now in the process of recruiting assembly and packing operatives , administrative roles and supervisory positions , with staff being recruited in November and December ahead of the work starting in January .
The new contract will see the Stiller team assemble and pack upwards of 175,000 units of industrial equipment a month at the facility . Stiller managing director Matthew Stiller said : “ We ’ re excited to be hiring assembly and packing operatives in anticipation of our new project beginning in January .
“ We secured a facility at Grindon Way , Aycliffe Business Park , one year ago which is currently undergoing improvements to ensure it ’ s the right environment for the precise and clean assembly tasks our team will undertake .
“ This new work , when added to our existing contract packing and fulfilment business arm , now turns over close to £ 2m in sales annually .
“ We ’ re keen to leverage the team ’ s experience that ’ s going to be formed for this new line of work to develop similar complementary work for new and existing customers .”
Stiller have partnered with another local firm , Darlington-based Resource Management Solutions ( RMS ), to recruit the new roles .
RMS operations director Nikki Butt said : “ It ’ s no coincidence that our shared values have paved the way for our partnership with Stiller .
“ Our people-focused solutions – designed to recruit , train , and retain a multi-functional workforce – will empower individuals , elevate opportunities and enrich lives . RMS are proud ‘ partners of choice ’.”
Formed in 1954 , Stiller provides costeffective warehousing and distribution services to businesses in the North-East region .
