Investment gives Aycliffe digital firm the edge

A

Newton Aycliffe tech firm is looking to apply its new e-commerce solution in markets around the world after securing a five-figure investment . Digital Edge specialise in the Wix web platform and provide a full range of digital marketing services , including web design , marketing solutions and software solutions , and has a particular specialism in utilising the Wix Velo web development platform .
Headquartered on Aycliffe Business Park and with a satellite office in Gloucestershire , the business has recently completed the development of a point-of-sale solution for global sales solution specialist Epos Now which allows it to be integrated within the Wix platform .
The management team has now worked with regional fund management firm NEL Fund Managers to bring in a £ 50,000 investment , from the North East Small Loan Fund Supported by The European Regional Development Fund .

Digital Edge has been selected to showcase their business on an iconic building in the bustling heart of New York . The digital marketing and web design agency , which works with clients worldwide , has appeared on the Nasdaq Tower in Manhattan ’ s Times Square .

The prestigious recognition coincides with the 10th anniversary of Wix , one of the world ’ s leading website development platforms , which recently floated on the US stock exchange .
Founded in 2017 by directors Ian Proctor and Graham Marsh , Wix partners Digital Edge began its journey from Graham ’ s conservatory .
They ’ ve since grown into a thriving agency with a dedicated team , specialising in providing a wide array of digital solutions , including design , software solutions and marketing .

marketing activity around its new solution , as well as others that are currently in development .
Digital Edge is also one of the first firms to work on the newly-released Wix Blocks software solution and is helping to lead its adoption by clients around the world .
Digital Edge was set up in 2021 after the merger of two successful digital consultancies which offered complementary services and expertise .
It now has an eight-strong team , which is expected to grow as the new solution enters new markets , and is aiming to reach an annual turnover of £ 500,000 this year .
Digital Edge was introduced to NEL Fund Managers by Allan Jeff , innovation and growth specialist at RTC North .
Sales director Ian Proctor , pictured above , said : “ We ’ re seeing growing numbers of new business opportunities coming in not just from North East England , but from right around the world , including from Spain , France , the US , Canada , UAE , Singapore and Australasia .”

PCP ’ S GOLD STATUS The Pioneering Care Partnership in Newton Aycliffe has been recognised for sustaining its GOLD status from the Investors in People ( IIP ) and taking home the title of 181st worldwide benchmarked against organisations with 50-249 employees .
Over 50,000 organisations are accredited by IIP , with only 17 % of those achieving gold status – making PCP a great place to work .
GOOD OFSTED RATING County Durham ’ s adult and community learning service has once again been rated as a “ good ” provider of education by Ofsted .
DurhamLearn , run by Durham County Council , provides education and training across the county with courses ranging from English and maths to digital skills and first aid .
And following a four-day inspection by a six-strong Ofsted team , it has been rated “ good ” in all areas .
The inspectors reported that staff “ develop learners ’ confidence and character very well ” and “ treat learners with respect and care ”.
DURHAM POUND ’ S £ 300M MILESTONE A project which brings together 11 of County Durham ’ s biggest employers has generated more than £ 300m in “ social value ” for the county since its launch last year .
The ‘ County Durham Pound ’ project has seen organisations including Durham County Council , Durham Constabulary and Durham University commit to maximising the local impact of their collective spending power .
And since its launch last September , it has recorded £ 305m of social value being put back into the county by member organisations .
TRAIN STATION ON TRACK Fresh CGI images have unveiled how a transformative station project will see cutting-edge stairways and a state-of-theart entrance hall .
