Developers plan exciting new 80,000 sq ft units for Aycliffe Business Park

Newton Aycliffe has been targeted as literally the “ prime location ” for a new industrial development . Manchester-based property developer The Prime Group has launched Prime Point Durham , an industrial scheme of two units totalling close to 80,000 sq ft , for Aycliffe Business Park .

Prime Point Durham is located at Carlbury Road , which runs to the east of and adjacent with Durham Way South on the business park .
Both of the units include ancillary office space and offer eaves heights of up to 12 metres .
Each unit will include around 35 car parking spaces , including EV charging points .
EPC ‘ A ’ ratings will be targeted and the units are available on a design and build basis .
Although the Prime Group is based in Manchester , one of its directors , Jeff Pike , is Durham born and bred .
“ It ’ s a feeling of great personal satisfaction for me to be able to give back to the community that raised me with an investment that will improve people ’ s lives ,” Jeff told Aycliffe Business .
“ Our affordable housing developments in Durham , through our residential division Hardwick Homes , have won design awards and created homes people can be proud of .
“ With a successful track record of building industrial in the North-West , it is a natural next step for us now , to create high quality industrial space that will attract companies to the area and create high sustainable employment for local people .”
Prime Group has appointed HTA Real Estate and Connect Property North East as joint agents on the scheme , which will comprise units of 36,069 sq ft and 41,592 sq ft .
HTA director Nick Atkinson said : “ Aycliffe Business Park is the biggest industrial estate in the region and new units such as these are in high demand from both manufacturers and warehouse operators alike .”
Jonathan Simpson , director at Connect Property North East , said : “ The proposed development is excellent news for the park , the new units will bring some much-needed stock for both Newton Aycliffe and the wider area .
