Tech firm now on software supplier public sector framework
A
Newton Aycliffe firm has been named as a supplier for a key public sector framework .
Excelpoint has been added to the Crown Commercial Service ( CCS ’ s ) G-Cloud 13 framework to supply public sector organisations with no-code software solutions .
G-Cloud 13 is the latest iteration of the government framework managed by the CCS .
UK government departments and public sector bodies can procure cloud-based services from approved suppliers on the digital marketplace at competitive prices without needing to go through a full tender or competition procurement process .
It enables them to compress procurement timescales and directly award to a supplier . It also provides them with access to the latest technology and innovations of products with pre-approved security , GDPR , and accessibility compliance and features products with pre-negotiated ( by CCS ) SLAs and pricing .
Excelpoint strategic business consultant Parry Jenkins , pictured above ( left ) with CEO Ian Brown , said : “ For public sector organisations , change is no longer optional , and the pace of change is increasing .
“ Our no-code technology offers the sector the opportunity to embrace a future-proofed and agile software solution that will evolve with each technology wave , rapidly pivot to changes in the economic and policy landscapes , address global volatility , and support organisational objectives .
“ It will do so with the added benefits of minimising the cost of change , accelerating the benefits , and driving through a clear and demonstrable return on investment .”

ROMAN CONVERT TO FULLY ELECTRIC FLEET OF VEHICLES
Newton Aycliffe-based shower designer and manufacturer Roman has further reduced its environmental impact by replacing all company cars to fully electric .
Roman has furthered its commitment to sustainability by updating all company vehicles to e-cars , helping to reduce its carbon emissions . Roman has electric charging points for all cars installed at its headquarters .
Moving to fully electric vehicles is just a small part of Roman ’ s environmental journey to becoming carbon zero .
The firm has been working on its environmental credentials for well over 10 years , fully embracing the circular economy and achieving carbon neutral status in 2021 .
All Roman products are sustainable and Roman embed the circular economy principles throughout its supply chain which entirely focuses on very high levels of recycling before and after the life of a product .
All the aluminum used in Roman ’ s production is 100 % recycled before use and at the end of life it is extremely easy to recycle and re-use aluminum back at its original value .
Likewise , Roman ’ s solid surface moulding and fabrication plants use material which is predominantly natural stone which can once again be reground back to its original value and be re-used .
The brass used for the hardware such as Shower Enclosure handles is 100 % of recycled material before use , without compromising on strength or functionality .
Roman is also working very closely with suppliers of glass and expects to be close to 100 % recycled content in 2024 .
Additionally , all packaging is made from recycled card in the first instance and can be fully recycled after its use and all inserts are also card ( not polystyrene or plastic ).
Roman CEO David Osborne said : “ Moving all company cars to fully electric was the next step on our environmental journey , with the long-term goal of becoming carbon zero .
“ As a leading British shower enclosure manufacturer , we give huge focus to sustainability and further breakthroughs will be coming over the next few years .”
