BLOOD AND RAIN (2009)
A film by Jorge Navas
Jorge Navas’ stylish debut film was a hit at the Venice Film Festival
and his acclaimed thriller has been described by industry bible
Variety as “a cracking slice of genre filmmaking that nods to vintage
Michael Mann and Martin Scorsese”.
A raw, tense and explicit journey that takes place over the course of
a single bloody and rain-soaked night through the dark and violent
underworld of the Colombian city of Bogotá, BLOOD AND RAIN
highlights the chance and unlikely encounter between Jorge – an
introverted cab driver on his night shift, who is fuelled by an
overwhelming need for revenge following his brother’s murder by a
gang of violent psychopaths, and Angela - a lonely artist, intent on
the reckless pursuit of mindless pleasures.
"A cracking slice of genre filmmaking that nods to vintage Michael Mann and
Martin Scorsese as well as the new generation of Latin American filmmakers"
