How has winning the Emerging
Architect Prize changed your life?
The recognition associated with the prize has
allowed for values previously associated with my
practice to augment my role as an academic (and
vice-versa). The collision of my once autonomous
‘lives’ (academic x practitioner) has been as
exhilarating as it has revelatory!
How do you interpret the conference theme,
‘Praxis: Process. Propositions. Production.’?
If the expanding realm of architecture is centred on the liberation
of people (self, community, society) then it is my assumption that
‘Praxis’ will present parallel ideals i.e. liberation as it relates to
both society and the practice of architecture.
… that said, I could be substantially ‘off-the-mark’.
