How has winning the Emerging Architect Prize
changed your life?
It certainly helps with your confidence and is very gratifying to be
recognised by your peers for your contribution to the industry.
What is a project you have worked on that you
are most proud of?
That’s a difficult one – I am proud of every project in one way or
another, you give each one everything. I do get a lot of reward
from working with students, tight budgets and utilising mundane
and standard materials in creative ways. Establishing long-
term relationships with our clients, consultants and builders is a
wonderful part of this process.
How do you interpret the conference theme,
‘Praxis: Process. Propositions. Production.’?
It’s always great to be surprised and discover the work of
some lesser-known architects. I look forward to perhaps
some discussion on the process and making of buildings not
just the end product.
