AWS Australia Collateral Emerging Architect Prize Winners: Class of 2015 | Page 2

INTRO 01 A NOTE FROM ROB HENRY, EMAGN IMMEDIATE-PAST PRESIDENT After the foundation of the Emerging Architects and Graduates Network (EmAGN) in 2006, which brought together state/territory based emerging architect groups, the Emerging Architect Prize was initiated. This prize was set up under the direction of Dominic Pelle, inaugural chair of EmAGN, as a state/territory based award and was then developed to also include a national prize winner. 05 QLD AARON PETERS The Emerging Architect Prize recognises an individual emerging architect or emerging architectural collaboration’s contribution to architectural practice, education, design excellence and community involvement which advances the profession’s role within the public arena. The prize raises the profile of emerging architects within the profession and has given many emerging architects the opportunity to launch very successful careers. On review of the list of winners, what is evident is the diversity of talent and the overwhelming level of support emerging architects have provided to the community. Without this prize, many of these extraordinary individuals who are committed to the advancement of architecture may have gone unnoticed. With this prize, students and graduates have inspiring role models to base their future careers on. EmAGN congratulates the national winners: Nathan Gibson Judd (ACT) – 2011, Kelly Rattigan (WA) – 2012, Clare Cousins (VIC) – 2013, Andrew Burns (NSW) – 2014, Nic Brunsdon (WA) – 2015, and Amy Muir (VIC) – 2016. EmAGN would also like to take this opportunity to thank AWS for their generous support of EmAGN activities and the Emerging Architect Prize over the past few years. 11 ACT YURI LEONG 03 NSW BRENDAN MURRAY 09 SA CANDY AUNG NT JOANNA BEST 07 TAS PHILIP M.
