The presentation held this week at the Intercontinental Resort to showcase
and discuss the Hua Hin International School was well attended and
informative, with around one hundred interested parties there. Of the five
directors behind the project, four were in attendance, and the meeting
was presented by one of them, Mr Graham Sullivan. The group are behind
the series of St Andrews schools in Bangkok and other areas of Thailand,
although they were at pains to point out that while the new school will be
built and operated using all their previous experience, it will not be a St
Andrews school due to an agreement with another partner in the existing
schools.
The plan they outlined is to open the new school in August 2015 for children
up to age ten/eleven initially (Early Years and Primary), although if there
are enough children aged eleven and above wanting to enrol, the second
phase (Secondary/Middle School) will be pushed forward to also open
at the same time. The location of the new school is opposite the Black
Mountain Water Park. Ballpark fees have been released, which will be in
the region of 150,000 baht per term, with three terms per year.
The presentation stressed the high quality of both the education that will
be available as well as the facilities and learning environment, to the same
high standard as has been achieved at the well known Bangkok Patana
School.
