Two events are set to take place next week which will be of interest to
many of the expat and resident community in the area, with a presentation
by the people behind the new international school being built near Black
Mountain on Monday, and the first ever networking event by the British
Chamber Of Commerce Thailand (BCCT) being held next Friday.
Dealing with the second of these first, the BCCT event (see ad on page
5) is billed as the Western Seaboard Networking Evening, and is being
held on Friday 5th September at the Sheraton Hua Hin Resort & Spa from
6.30 to 9.30pm; the resort is located north of Hua Hin on the eastern side
of Phetkasem Road. There is a fee of 200 baht which includes snacks
and drinks, and bookings can be made to attend on the BCCT website
at members.bccthai.com. There is also an associated friendly golf
tournament at Springfield Royal Golf and Country Club on Saturday 6th
September, green fee only 1000 baht plus caddie – please contact Michael
Van Amelsvoort on 081 837 7877 to book your place.
The presentation for the new international school will take place on Monday
1st September at the Intercontinental Hua Hin Resort, south of the town
centre on the east side of Phetkasem Road, from 6.30pm, and is free for any
interested parties to attend. Building has already commenced on the site
and the school is expected to partially open in 2015, but full information
will be available at the presentation and over the coming months. It is
certainly another exciting development for the area and further illustrates
the potential this region has for residents, expats, businesses, tourists and
families alike.
