Meeting with members around the country at the start of 2022 , I shared how I was feeling about the year ahead :
ENERGIZED by the clear , inspiring mission and ambitious , meaningful goals laid out in AWO ’ s new , member-developed strategic plan : to serve as the tugboat , towboat and barge industry ’ s advocate , resource , and united voice for safe , sustainable , and efficient transportation on America ’ s waterways , oceans , and coasts ;
CONFIDENT because of the extraordinary team of outstanding member leaders ; dedicated , multi-talented members and staff ; and stalwart allies and partners guiding and supporting our work ;
CLEAR-EYED about the challenges ahead as we set out to accomplish hard things in a tumultuous public policy environment with limited resources in the face of apathy , opposition , and everything in between ; and ,
100 % COMMITTED to the members and the mission – to bringing our “ A ” game every day and leaving nothing on the field as we work for you and with you .
