■ Worked through the Mid-America RQSC Consistency QAT to resolve Subchapter M implementation challenges .
■ Recruited sponsors in the New York State Senate and Assembly for legislation to exempt the towing industry from the Petroleum Business Tax .
■ Engaged with the Administration , Congress and wind energy developers to emphasize the need for an adequately sized Atlantic Coast Fairway and ensure safe locations for wind energy areas .
■ Engaged with West Coast BOEM leadership to ensure maritime industry interests are understood in Pacific Coast offshore renewable energy planning .
■ Led coalition to successfully advocate for gate replacement at the Ballard Locks .
■ Leveraged U . S . and Canadian industry partnerships to engage with Transport Canada on proposal to expand pilotage requirements for U . S . vessels transiting Canadian waters .
■ Engaged with Columbia Snake River System coalition partners to oppose a proposal to breach the Snake River dams .

■ Shared comprehensive information on COVID-19 vaccine access and provided members with resources to overcome employee vaccine hesitancy .
■ Supported members in managing the COVID-19 challenge through real-time website updates and regular member discussion forums .
■ Through the River Industry Executive Task Force , continually engaged with the Army Corps of Engineers and the Coast Guard to ensure the Western Rivers remain open for safe and efficient operations .
■ Produced Environmental Stewardship Best Practices to support members in demonstrating their commitment to sustainability , staying ahead of future regulations , and distinguishing their companies in the marketplace .
■ Produced safety webinars on : – learning from other safety-leading industries , – combatting workplace complacency , – best practices for hurricane preparedness and response , – managing multi-generational talent , and – exploring deficiencies and non-conformities found in third-party vessel audits and Coast Guard inspections .
■ Published Safety Statistics Reporting Program annual report to highlight key safety differences between AWO members and the industry as a whole and year-overyear safety trends .
■ Redesigned SSRP website to give members quick and easy access to safety statistics trend data .
