■ Secured legislative codification of the Made in America Office , a new White House office that has been a vocal advocate for the Jones Act and is charged with maximizing enforcement of domestic preference statutes , including the Jones Act .
■ Prevented anti-Jones Act legislation from gaining support or traction in Congress .
■ Built on the January 1 legislative success in clarifying application of the Jones Act to offshore renewable energy development with Customs and Border Protection rulings that affirm application of the Jones Act to offshore wind .
■ Led outreach to the Administration and wind developers to maximize opportunity for the domestic maritime industry in the emerging offshore wind market .
■ Organized virtual Barge-In where over 165 member participants engaged in 214 meetings with Members of Congress and staff to reinforce Congressional relationships and educate lawmakers .
■ Educated Biden Administration appointees on the importance of the tugboat , towboat and barge industry to the Administration ’ s safety , sustainability , security and supply chain goals and elevated the industry ’ s profile with senior Administration officials .
■ Effectively managed transitions in key Coast Guard roles , including the Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy and Eighth District Commander , to ensure continuity and communication .
