POETIC EXPRESSION
Don’ t promise me the moon, just hold me in the moonlight. Let’ s whisper words of love as we hold each other tight. Don’ t promise me the stars, we can leave them in the sky; Morning will come too soon, and we’ ll have to say goodbye. Don’ t promise me the sea, which hides all the lovely pearls. Take my hand into yours, let’ s pretend to share our worlds. Don’ t promise me the hills, their majesty untold. Throw caution to the wind, and tonight let’ s just be bold! Don’ t promise me your love, if it’ s not yours to give. You have another life, one in which I cannot live. Don’ t promise me the valleys where rivers run right through. They’ ll overflow with tears, when I say goodbye to you.
Don ' t promise me tomorrow, that which will be broken. Just take my love tonight, and leave the words unspoken.
