Nangarhar Businesswomen Development Center Mahtab Malikzai President Ms. Mahtab Malikzai is the President of Nangarhar Businesswomen Development Center. Beside her busi- ness, she serves on the Board of Directors of Afghan- istan Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (AWCCI) in Nangarhar province. She has established an association of women embroiderer in Nangarhar and she is helping them sale and they are training more women on monthly basis. She served Nangarhar Department of Women’s Af- fairs as an Advisor for over three years. As DoWA advisor she served to improve both the DoWA’s ac- tivities and as well programs for women’s economic empowerment. She has been active in women’s economic empower- ment through vocational education and helping them generate income from their homes. She has repre- sented women’s interest in many national platforms including Emergency Loya Jirga. She has also led ini- tiatives to increase women’s participation in the elec- tions and has been part of the election campaigns for both parliament and presidential.
