Highlights of AWCCI-North Zone Activities in this quarter
Women for Women Business
Knowledge Sharing Workshop
Afghanistan Women Chamber of Commerce and
Industry-North Zone office conducted the third
phase of one-day “Women for Women Business
Knowledge Sharing” workshop on November 07,
2019 for more than 80 participants including gov-
ernment, international guest, private sector officials
and female entrepreneurs. The main goal of this
program was to exchange ideas between business-
women, to learn from each other, to increase the
understanding of women on recent developments
and achievements of Afghan businesswomen and
to get more motivation in order to passionately
continue their activities, while raising awareness for
women about the economic opportunities.
At first, Ms. Shakiba Shakib, Chair of AWC-
CI-North Zone had welcome remark to all digni-
taries and gusts and pointed out the purpose of the
workshop. Mr. Farhang Farhang, Head of Tech-
nical and Sectorial services of Balkh Governor,
talked about the support and commitment of Balkh
Governor Office in progress of women’s econom-
ic activities. Afterwards, Mr. Hassan Ansari, rep-
resentative of Balkh Chamber of Commerce and
Investment highlighted problems and challenges of
businesswomen in Balkh.
During the business knowledge sharing session,
Ms. Zahra Tarshi, Founder of Khana Khorshid and
member of AWCCI Board of Directors, who came
from Kabul delivered a presentation on her business
activities and her personal experience in business.
Likewise, Ms. Safia Moheti, Founder of Harewa
Women Service Company and AWCCI-West Zone
Board member shared her business experience and
activities in Herat. On behalf of Balkh business-
women community, Ms. Parasto Babur, Founder of
Orianet confectionaries discussed on her current
success and pervious failures in business journey.
At the end, participants had a chance to visit the
small exhibition of women’s products which was
prepared by Balkh Women Chamber of Commerce.
