AWCCI participated
in International
Conference on
Women’s Regional
Cooperation in
Termez, Uzbekistan
AWCCI facilitated participation of 23 women
from Kabul, Balkh and Herat in International
Conference on Enhancing the effectiveness
of regional cooperation between women en-
trepreneurs from Uzbekistan, Korea, Afghan-
istan and China” on April 22, 2019 in Termez,
Uzbekistan. This conference was organized by
Business Women Association (BWA) of Uzbeki-
stan in partnership with International Women’s
Federation of Commerce and Industry (IWFCI)
South Korea, Uzbek-Chinese Trade Association
and Afghanistan Women Chamber of Com-
merce and Industry (AWCCI).
Ms. Sona Mahmoody, Board Member of AWCCI,
had a speech, a presentation on AWCCI’s intro-
duction and accomplishment and signed a MoU
with BWA Uzbekistan.
Participation in the International Conference
gave Afghan women the opportunity to inter-
act with women from other participating coun-
tries, establish new business contacts and to
develop joint business projects within the new
favorable business environment in Uzbekistan.
A Business Excursion was also organized for the
women to visit enterprises managed by women
entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan. The delegation
had also visit of the sights of Termez city. The
event closed with a Gala dinner from Mayor’s
Office of Surkhandarya region.
AWCCI is grateful to BWA Uzbekistan for their
hospitality, the Commercial Attaché of Afghan-
istan in Uzbekistan and the Embassy of Uzbek-
istan in Afghanistan for their assistance to our
women in getting visas and their warm recep-
tion.
The purpose of this International Conference
was to bring together women in business as
well as professionally active women from of
Uzbekistan, Korea, China and Afghanistan to
discuss the conditions for promoting their busi-
ness, developing regional partnerships and in-
troducing innovative approaches in support of
entrepreneurship.

refer to AWCCI so that they guide us to find the
best way to solve problems.
