Washington will excel as a globally competitive state built on a solid foundation of innovation, a world-class workforce, and a quality of place second to none.
Uniting Advancing
In 2024, AWB celebrated 120 years of employer advocacy in Washington. The world has changed dramatically during the 12 decades since our founding as The Citizen’ s Alliance, but our mission has been remarkably consistent.
We continue to advocate on behalf of employers in Olympia and Washington, D. C., delivering impact.
We continue to bring employers together, forging connections.
And we continue seeking solutions to the challenges facing our businesses, building stronger communities across the state.
Our role as a convener and civic leader was evident during the 2024 elections as we hosted four debates for statewide office, including one of only two gubernatorial debates of the campaign cycle. It was a continuation not only of a 30-plus year tradition, but also a centuryplus tradition of civic engagement aimed at improving the critically important relationship between industry and government.
That relationship is most visible during the legislative session, and 2024 saw important wins for employers as we helped stop many of the most harmful tax and regulatory proposals lawmakers brought forward.
We continued to highlight the important role of manufacturing with the eighth-annual Manufacturing Week bus tour and second-annual State of Manufacturing address.
And 2024 was a milestone year for the Grassroots Alliance. The coalition of state chambers we built to strengthen the voice of small employers grew to 114 members as it celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Looking back at 120 years of employer advocacy, it’ s clear that our mission to serve as a catalytic leader and unifying voice for economic prosperity has never been more relevant.
Thanks for helping us create connections and make a positive impact for employers.
Washington will excel as a globally competitive state built on a solid foundation of innovation, a world-class workforce, and a quality of place second to none.
