Apollo House We are now over half way through the first term! After a busy start to the year, Year 7 students have settled in well, Year 8 students are working with the PiXL Edge programme, Year 9 students have started their GCSE options, Year 10 students are looking for a placement for their work experience next July and Year 11 students have just completed their first set of pre public examinations and are busy looking at sixth forms and colleges for next year. Two weeks ago, I shared with tutors the latest attitude to learning data and it is really nice to see that the vast majority of students in Apollo are doing really well. They are focused in lessons, equipped to learn and trying their best. There are 53 students with an outstanding attitude to learning. The top 10 are listed below: Renata Bartha, 10DPA Irene Chen, 10DPA Bobby Brannen, 9JCO Julia Niedzinska, 10DPA Alec Chaplin, 11JSM Kaydee Maher, 9GCH Sophie Chaloner, 10RSP Katie Eaton, 10RSP Julia Nowak, 10DPA Ellie Letts, 11LW There have also been a few competitions since September and I am very pleased to see that Apollo students have taken part and some have even won too! Special mention to Ella-Mae Reesby (8AKA) and Ellie Purchon (8AKA) for winning the bake-off competition, to Renata Bartha (10DPA) for winning the Christmas card competition and to Julia Ozog (7MWH) for winning the photography competition. Thanks to all these good results and many students taking part, our House, is currently at the top of the competition leaderboard. I now look forward to seeing what the next 4 weeks will bring! In the meantime, if you have any queries or concerns about your child, please do not hesitate to contact myself ([email protected]) or Miss Hicks, our Student Welfare Leader ([email protected]) at school or by email.
