Religious Education Key Stage 3 Year 7 have begun RE by exploring what R.M.E (Religion, Morals and Ethics) actually is. We have explored different religious perspectives and non-religious perspectives on the creation of the world and students have begun to explore their own perspectives and develop their opinions. For the remainder of the Autumn Term they will be exploring the ‘Rise of Christianity’ and how it brings hope to people in times of need. Year 8 have been delving into the topic of crime and punishment; exploring the causes of crime and how and why we punish. Rugby Youth for Christ have been coming in to class to discuss Christian perspectives on Crime and Punishment to further enhance learning. Key Stage 4 Year 9 have successfully completed their first topic on Christian Beliefs which has included: creation of the world; beliefs in the afterlife; the life and death of Jesus and sin and salvation. In addition, Rugby Youth for Christ have discussed, and completed activities, with the students to further enhance their learning on who Jesus was and his significance to Christians. Year 11 have almost completed their GCSE having now finished Religion and Life, Relationships and Family and part of Human Rights. They are currently preparing for their PPE’s and are all hard at work revising and preparing for their final GCSE. If you think your child has misplaced anything, please come along and have a look at the items on display. After a period of time any unclaimed items will be sent to the charity shop for recycling.
