Last year’s sports day was an amazing success with staff and students dressing up alike in their House colours. The PE staff and tutors are currently working hard to get all students involved in competing that day. For the first time ever the year 10’s will have returned from work experience and will be involved in the sports day too. Refreshment stalls will be set up on the day to raise money for our 4 house charities, Myton Hospice, Air Ambulance, Zoe’s Place and Teenage Cancer Trust. Good luck to everyone! 2,461 PHOENIX 2,845 GARRICK 2,638 FORTUNE This term all Houses are surging forward in collecting House points to try and win the 2016 House Point Cup. Despite the Year 11’s being in exams, the Year 7 -10’s have achieved many house points for their fantastic effort in lessons and for their display of core values. 2,665 House Point Chart, Current Half Term Apollo HOUSES House Points this Academic Year Like the 2014/15 academic year, this year sees an extremely close run competition to win the House Point Cup. With only 2 weeks left it seems Sports Day might determine which House is the victorious winner. Currently Garrick, with 33534 are just beating Phoenix with 33327. However any of the 4 houses could still triumph. House Points are awarded for any positive behaviour or work that deserves praise. Although the end prize is being House Champions for a year, the greater purpose is for all Avon Valley students to realise their potential, and that they all contribute to a positive environment to learn and develop in. Well done everyone!
