GCSE PE Update
Year 11 GCSE PE students have all worked incredibly hard over the last term on their controlled assessment . They have completed a detailed study of their own performance in an activity in which they : discussed the strengths and weaknesses , highlighted a weakness to improve on , and created a detailed training programme to improve this weakness . I am sure their hours of dedication will pay off in terms of the results gained .
The Pre Public exams showed students what to expect in May and gave them a taste of the scenario questions . We are expecting the release of the scenario from the exam board at any moment now . This will allow us to tailor the remainder of the course and revision sessions , so that we can be fully prepared to gain the best possible marks .
Other things that GCSE PE students can do are : - Sign up for the Facebook scenario revision group and contribute to discussions on this Attend Monday night revision sessions after school Go through Year 10 folder to revise previous topics Go on the AQA website to complete past papers and look at mark schemes Be fully focussed in all lessons
Year 9 and 10 GCSE students have made a successful start to their courses and are producing work of a good standard in both theory and practical lessons .
Sports Studies update
The Year 11 students have recently had their exam , and are now busy preparing for their Sport and the Media scrap books . They are almost ready to deliver their Leadership and Coaching sessions for assessment and are on course for Level 2 qualifications which will help them gain places on appropriate Level 3 courses at college next year .
Year 9 and 10 students are working well in their R051 theory module , producing some excellent booklets , and also in the practical R052 where they cover : individual sports , team sports , learn to officiate in an activity , and complete a written piece of work which looks at improving their weaknesses .
Extra Curricular success
