This is E-2C Hawkeye (BuNo 161552) assigned to VAW-124, CVW-8 and photographed at NAS Norfolk, VA on June 26, 1991.  Each CVW-8 CAG aircraft carried nose art during the conflict.  These CAG Birds were ordered sanitized of said artwork prior to launching for Norfolk.  Instead. the enterprising Plane Captain of 161552 masked over the nose art and over sprayed it giving the impression it was permanently removed.  Upon landing, the mask was removed for all to see and admire.  Note the overspray in the photo above.
