On behalf of the entire staff here at Aviation Photojournal, welcome to our first issue! We are excited to share our passion for aviation with you through the pages of our magazine!
Personally, I have been enthralled by aviation since childhood. It's always hard to put your finger on the first moment you were bitten by the aviation bug, but a fond early memory of mine stands out - my first trip to the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum in New York City. My father took me there when it first opened and from the deck filled with warbirds to the unique smells of the retired aircraft carrier, I was hooked. While each member of our staff has their own individual "aviation geek" memories, they have all brought us together in this endeavor.
From all across the United States, Europe and Asia, we have assembled an amazing team of accomplished and widely recognized photojournalists so that we can bring you all the
things that the spectacular world of aviation has to offer.
They say a picture is worth 1,000 words, so our focus in the pages of APJ will be to highlight the majesty of aviation primarily through images. From the skies above WTI to the runways at Nellis, our mission is to take you into the heart of the action. With our premier issue having over 80 pages filled with some of the best aviation photojournalism you can find, I'd say we're off to a great start!
We thank you, our readers, for your support and enthusiasm! We will remain steadfast in our mission: to bring you The BEST in aviation and military photography!
