PHEW! We only have a minute to breathe in between air shows, base visits and assorted other aviation goodness. So we'll use this minute to tell you what we've been up to (or you can just flip through this jam-packed issue!) and give you a little preview of what to expect in the month's ahead.
This issue features a full spectrum of military aviation for your enjoyment. We went ABOVE and beyond to bring you a bird's eye view of New York City's annual Fleet Week celebration and got in the line of fire (well, at least a safe distance away) at Hawgsmoke. Of course there were also plenty of air shows and much more!
Coming soon we'll take you in-depth for our coverage of the world's largest military air show, RIAT. Let's just say if you like air-to-air photography of the RIAT performers, you're going to LOVE our coverage. We'll also be at another 'world's largest' in the coming weeks, OSHKOSH! We can't wait to share all these great stories with you in the pages of APJ!
Finally, our hearts go out to the friends and families of Capt. Jeff Kuss (USMC), Bill Gordon, Bruce Evans and Randy Harris who tragically lost their lives at air shows in the past few months. Blue skies, gentlemen.

Capt. Jeff Kuss (USMC) was tragically lost in June during a practice flight at Smyrna Airport for the Great American Air Show. He is pictured here during the 2015 MCAS Miramar Air Show when he was the team's narrator and Blue Angel #7. APJ/dan adams
