While it has undertaken many treacherous

missions, including many that remain secret to this day,

the IAF's high-profile successes include Operation

Thunderbolt (the raid to free Israeli hostages in Entebbe)

and Operation Opera (the mission to destroy the Iraqi nuclear

reactor at Osirak.

With the possibility of Iran gaining a nuclear bomb and the rise of ISIS in the region, the IAF mission will not get any easier. But with some of the best-trained pilots in the world and the world's most advanced technology, the IAF is up to the task. In protecting their own borders against the constant existential threats to the nation's existence, the men and women of the IAF cannot afford anything less than the total success of their mission.
