Happy New Year! As we embark on Aviation Photojournal's third year in operation, we want to take a moment to thank each and every one of our readers for their enthusiasm and support. 2016 was a banner year for APJ and we hope you enjoyed our crowning achievement of the year, our special edition issue celebrating 100 years of Coast Guard Aviation.
Looking ahead to 2017, we are certainly getting the year off to a running start. Our coverage in this issue has a little something for everyone: from the introduction of the F-35I Adir in Israel to the deck of the USS George Washington in the Atlantic Ocean. We also bring you two significant retirements, the venerable F-4 Phantom (from USAF service) and the battle tested F-16 Netz. Finally, we're proud to bring you the work of acclaimed photographer and author Mike Lynaugh who, in addition to his work on CVN-73, also brings us a poignant look at US Navy squadron homecomings.
We have so much more in store for 2017 and we can't wait to share it all with you!
