Lewis Air Legends’ Lockheed C-121A Constellation Bataan made its second appearance at SUN ’n FUN and was once again one of the highlights of the show. Delivered to the U.S. Air Force in 1949, the aircraft supported the Berlin Airlift before becoming General Douglas MacArthur’s personal transport and flying command post during the Korean War. NASA later acquired Bataan and used it in support of the Apollo program. Following an extensive eight-year restoration, this remarkable aircraft is flying again, carrying a history that spans the Berlin Airlift, the Korean War and America’s race to the Moon.
