MARINE OSPREYS

The Bell Boeing MV-22 Osprey gives the Marine Corps the speed and range of a fixed-wing aircraft with the vertical lift of a helicopter, allowing Marines to rapidly deploy troops, equipment, and special operations forces without relying on runways. Since entering service in 2007, it has proven essential for amphibious operations, crisis response, and global missions that demand reach and flexibility.

The MV-22 also supports the President through Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1). When the President is aboard, it carries the “Marine One” call sign, transporting staff, security personnel, and vital gear. Its role within the presidential fleet highlights the aircraft’s unique capabilities and trusted performance.
