John “Pappy” Mazza, a cherished pilot of the Military Aviation Museum and a beloved figure in the warbird community, will be forever remembered for his skill, warmth, and devotion to preserving aviation history. Whether waving from the ramp or soaring high in the Museum’s Supermarine Spitfire Mk IX—his favorite aircraft—Pappy shared his passion with everyone he met, keeping the stories of the Greatest Generation alive with every flight. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him across the air show industry.
