The Hawker Hunter, a post-war British jet fighter, first flew in 1951 and has served 22 nations, remaining in service today with Zimbabwe. Designed by Sir Sydney Camm as a nimble day interceptor, it set a world airspeed record in 1953 and was flown by display teams including the RAF Black Arrows and Patrouille Suisse. Many retired Hunters now operate as private warbirds or military threat simulators.
Hawker Hunter Aviation( HHA) operates retired Hunters, including ex-Swiss Mk. 58s and a Chilean T. 72, from RAF Leeming.
