332 SQN Geraki

Dassault Rafale F3R

332 Squadron is one of the oldest and newest fighter units of the HAF at the same time. Originally founded in 1944 during WWII as a Spitfire unit, it served with distinction before later transitioning through multiple aircraft types, including the legendary F 104G Starfighter. After a period of deactivation, the squadron was chosen in 2021 to become the first Greek Rafale unit— marking a historic leap in capability. Reestablished at Tanagra Air Base, 332 Squadron now flies the Rafale F3R, a 4.5 generation fighter equipped with advanced sensors, a powerful AESA radar, electronic warfare systems,
and long range Meteor missiles. The arrival of the Rafale transformed the squadron into one of the most sophisticated air combat units in the region. Its pilots train extensively with France, integrating both air to air and air to ground tactics. From strategic strike operations using SCALP cruise missiles to maritime missions across the Aegean, 332 Squadron now plays a key role in Greece’ s future airpower structure. The revival of its historic name links Greece’ s WWII aviation heritage to its cutting edge present.
