1400 x 1050 Resolution

For those making PTE v. 5.x sequences in formats other than 4:3 and which
include animated PNG objects, might be interested in the following.
If you don't have access to a 1400x1050 projector and are worried how
your sequence might play on such, you can simulate the situation by setting
your monitor to 1400x1050 (or greater) screen resolution.
If objects 'waiting in the wings' (off screen) can be seen, then these could
be hidden by a PTE mask, or like Ian Bateman (AV News 177 page 29), an
aperture object could be created.
I remain unconvinced about the move to 1400x1050 projectors (still 4:3) as
the next step will be to 16:9 (1920x1080); already anticipated by the RPS (see
the article by Robert Albright in the RPS Journal, Vol. 149, Issue 6, page 363).
I've just been looking at my digital Royale and its ATI Radeon graphics
card won't support 1400x1050! The highest pixel count (at 4:3) is 1280x960,
but it will also support 1280x1024 (5:4). It's the n-Vidia card of my main PC
which offers 1600x1200, as does the Matrox card in my ancient PC.
Whereas my 'cheap and cheerful' so called widescreen laptop won't exceed
1280x800. None seem to offer a 16:9 option.
