AV News 187 - February 2012
Eddie also took apart his two latest sequences, showing us not only the
development of the pictures and PTE timelines, but also his working methods
in Audition. But what captivated everyone was his account of his personal and
practical research into cement manufacture for his latest sequence. Eddie had
been intrigued by the work of a local jobbing builder, who had scooped handfuls
of limestone from the local roads and found out how to make the best cement
in the world. But Eddie didn’t just photograph the raw materials or the quarries
for his sequence, he set about making his own cement. There has got to be a
brilliant sequence about his efforts to produce Portland
cement, so I won’t spoil the story in case it ever comes
to fruition.
Thank you RPS Northern AV group, you made us
very welcome and put on an excellent day. Credit must
go to all who contributed to the day, but especially to Ian
Jolly for running the day. Ian is going to be retiring from
running these events in the next year, so I hope that
people will come forward and offer their help to ensure
that days like these continue into the future.
The next meetings will be on 17th March and 20th
October at Snods Edge and the 16th or 30th June at
Houghton, Carlisle.
