Preselection - We have received several Letters on this subject. Some
competitions try to avoid it, such as 'The Great Northern' and the 'IAC Peter
Coles International'. Others feel that they need quality and more time
available for socialising, so need to 'thin down' the entries. Whatever method
of preselection is chosen, there are always going to be disappointments. But
