Anyone attending major AV festivals over the past year, for example the RPS
National Audio Visual Championships cannot fail to have noticed that more
video clips are creeping into AV's. Some workers manage very skilfully to
seamlessly blend video into their sequence without their audience suddenly
noticing, without their senses being jarred before realising that perhaps for
several seconds they have been watching movies and not just dissolving still
images. When properly undertaken this technique of inserting video clips can
add enormously to the strength of message conveyed to the viewer. However
using the right video in the right way within a sequence is key to success, but
this will only be achieved with practice and experience. Whether you like it or
