The 21st RPS International
AV Festival is now open for
entries and bookings, and
you are cordially invited to
participate
The Festival will be held
at the customary venue of
the
Royal
Agricultural
University in Cirencester,
from Friday 19th to Sunday
21st September 2014.
This year we have moved
the website to the new RPS
parent site, and both entries
and bookings can now be
submitted online as well as
by CD.
Full details can be found
in the ‘How to Enter’ section
of the website.
Also on the website you
will find many photographs
of previous festivals going
right back to 2006, with
photographs of our past
attendees, some sadly no
longer with us.
The International Jury
for the Festival comprises:
Howard Bagshaw (UK) Chairman of the Jury, Keith Brown (UK),
John Hodgson (Australia) and Gé rard Desroches (Luxembourg).
As with the last event, if the number of entries exceed the Festival duration, then
a pre-selection will be made to determine the accepted sequences. This will be
attended by the Chair of the Jury, and it will be his decision on whether a sequence
is accepted or rejected.
Again, after the successful introduction of ‘widescreen’ projection at the
previous Festival, we will be using the same equipment to project ‘HD’ sequences
in widescreen format up to 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution. ‘Standard’ sequences in
4:3 aspect ratio will still be projected with no distortion or loss of quality, so authors
are free to submit whatever format they choose. Please note that the projection
equipment is set to run in sRGB colour space, so for optimal quality the images in
your sequences should be saved in this format.
We look forward to seeing you at Cirencester!
Ian Bateman FRPS MPAGB AV-AFIAP
Chairman of the Festival Committee
