And the judges? Well they were quite a mixed bunch, I guess deliberately so.
Colin Balls FRPS APAGB was chairman of the judges so we knew that we'd get
some forthright judging and comments. He was supported by Erhard
Hobrecker FRPS, who had
flown over from Switzerland
especially for the event. Erhard,
you might remember, won the
RPS International with his
sequence "The Forest of Tane
Mahuta". The third member
was Bryan Stubbs LRPS who
admitted to being the new kid
on the block, but in the 4 years
or so he has been making AVs,
he has had great success both
Three Wise Men - Erhard, Colin & Bryan
locally and nationally.
The lights dimmed, we were treated to Peter Coles' sparkling introductory
sequence and then on with the competition. I can't possibly go through every
entry, but the first one by Kate Brown, called "There's a first time for
everything" was a delight. The 'first time' was a trip to Switzerland for Connie,
