Stubbs was established as the new
Regional Organiser and he then went on to
introduce the programme for the day.
The morning session was dedicated to 15
attendees sequences including one from
Bill, which were brought along for viewing
and comment. Each sequence was
projected and observations invited from
the floor. The discussions were coordinated by Keith Scott FRPS, and our
speakers Jill K Bunting CPAGB and John Smith APAGB CPAGB, also offered
constructive comments. There were some excellent presentations from both
beginners and experienced workers alike and a lot to be gained from the
comments offered.
Bill - After lunch Jill Bunting and John Smith entertained us with their
expertise in AV making, passing on tips & tricks that they have mastered. Jill
showed us the V in AV by telling us how she put her sequence 'The Colour
Thief' together. John covered the A in AV by talking about the audio side of
the sequences, imparting his knowledge of "Audacity"
Tony - Jill and John showed a variety of sequences including the award
winning 'Colour Thief' and 'The Messiah'. They demonstrated how to re-size,
position and crop images and also align horizons both in Photoshop and
Pictures to Exe. There was a section on how to place titles on images
combined with the Pan, Zoom and Rotate tools in PTE. John gave an
in-depth presentation in the use of the free software programs - CDex for
"ripping" audio tracks from a CD, and Audacity for both single or multi-track
sound manipulation. This included recording and editing a simple voice over
