AV News 190 - November 2012
For those who are interested in the equipment, two Canon cameras were
used, an EOS 5d with a 24-105 mm zoom lens and an EOS 30d with a
100-400 zoom lens. Some of the pictures were taken when exploring in a
Zodiac - quite a challenge with around a dozen people in such a confined
space. In windy conditions the Zodiac often feels like riding a bucking bronco
in freezing temperatures!
When
making
presentations my
priority is to be
faithful to the
subject matter.
This means a
minimum
of
adjustment to the
basic images.
In Norway there is now a
move afoot in nature
photography for images that
have
been
digitally
manipulated to be identified
as such. I agree with this
point of view.
My presentation 'On the Beach', which was also shown at the Festival, comes
from the other end of the earth - the Falkland Islands and South Georgia.
In November 2010 I went
on a three-week expedition
cruise to South Georgia
with shorter stops at the
Falkland Islands (where
the
sequence
was
photographed).
I am now in love with
both the far north and the
far south.
