Why Did We Apply For Licentiateships?

My main aim in applying for my LRPS was to join and
contribute to a bigger audio-visual community than the
parochial South African one. I believe one needs to
measure oneself against the best and this was not
possible locally. Also, to plough back locally one needs
to know what is happening in the broader world of this
exciting new medium. There has been no South
African participation in international salons while I
have been following them in spite of us having very
good AV workers. My aim now will be to encourage
