AV News 184 - May 2011
A tribute to my friend Peter. A sad loss for the AV world
I feared the day when I
would need to write some
words about my trusted
and loyal friend of over 25
years. But at this time
words fail me. Words
cannot
express
the
feeling of loss that we will
all feel at the passing of
this very special multi
talented man.
I worked with Peter on
the RPS AV Group
Committee, the RPS
Distinctions Panel and of course during the 10 years of producing AV
WORLD with Colin.
Throughout that time what came through was his sincerity, integrity and his
all-consuming passion for the well being of the world of AV
He was always willing to help and encourage others. It was Peter who
encouraged me to enter International competitions and we travelled Europe
together visiting festivals.
We had some hilarious
times, he was great fun to be
with.
He
had
many
successes at these festivals
but modestly proclaimed that
the sequences he made
were 'summat from nowt'.
We were to have had one
last 'hurrah' at Epinal's 50th
anniversary festival in April,
he would have enjoyed that.
Colin and Marion have
outlined his achievements,
all I wish to add is that he
loved his fellow man and
captured the hearts and
souls of all those who came
in contact with him. We'll
never see his like again. I
feel proud and privileged to
have been his friend.
