Many thanks to all those kind people who sent get well
cards and kind messages whilst I was in hospital; it's
really nice to know that we have so many well wishers
and considerate people within the AV community.
Thank you all so much, your kind deeds are really
appreciated, they helped brighten and soothe my
otherwise painfully dull days.
The RPS Council and also the Advisory Board are
somewhat concerned about the lack of applications
for the April Audio-Visual Distinctions Day which had
to be cancelled. No doubt there could be several
reasons why insufficient numbers of people, members
or non members applied, thereby making this particular event unviable.
Perhaps inadequate advertising, insufficient notification or awareness, or
disquiet about some aspect of the process, possibly a combination of several
things. Whatever the reason I cannot believe that this was due to member's
lethargy; AV workers are far too actively involved generally for this to be the
cause. There will be another opportunity to acquire those coveted letters of
distinction in October, when the combined Distinctions and Advisory Day is to
be held at the Hilton Hotel in Bath. This will be the last opportunity for AV
distinctions this year so get your application in now.
