RPS Audio Visual Distinctions and Advisory Day

The Royal Photographic Society is renowned worldwide for the high standards
attained by its dedicated members especially those holding the coveted and
much sought after distinctions of LRPS, ARPS and FRPS.
Audio Visual Group members are encouraged to attain distinctions in their
chosen field of interest in much the same way that other groups within the society
are advised and encouraged. If you fancy holding those coveted distinctions but
are not yet a member then fear not; you may apply as a non member, but if you
are successful you are asked to join the Society in order to hold the Distinction
and use the letters after your name.
The next combined Audio Visual Distinction and Advisory Day is scheduled for
9th October 2010 so you have sufficient time to consider and decide on the
material to use for your assessment; and if you're not quite sure about any aspect
of your material then this is the best opportunity to seek excellent advice from
experts who will be happy to help, advise, and encourage. All applicants whether
members or non members are strongly advised to read the Distinction Handbook
before submitting their applications. This Handbook which is considered essential
reading and the appropriate distinction application forms can be downloaded
from the RPS website at http://www.rps.org
To provide the very best environment possible the Society has agreed to use
the Hilton Hotel at Bath, where the size and suitability of the room permit the use
of a very large screen and excellent acoustics, thereby doing full justice to
applicant's sequences. Any AV event at this venue is not to be missed.
For further information please contact the Distinctions Manager Andy Moore
LRPS Early applications are advised to ensure that your material is included in
this Distinction and Advisory Day, by the nature of Audio-Visual assessment
there will be a limited number of places available.
Robert Albright FRPS will chair the panel. Robert will be accompanied by
Eddie Spence FRPS, Keith Leedham FRPS, and Ian Bateman FRPS all of whom
are well known and very highly respected Audio-Visual workers both nationally
and internationally. This panel will also be accompanied by one other Distinction
Advisory Board nominee.
This event will be your only opportunity to obtain a Distinction in Audio Visual
this year; don't let it slip through your fingers, get your application submitted early.
Remember; 9th October, Hilton Hotel, Bath, not to be missed.
