AV News 182 - November 2010
Since last year my husband (Roel) retired and we now spend more time on
our hobbies and interests. The digital age is making it much easier to make
AVs. With AV one can be very creative and use the medium to send out a
message, make people aware of environmental issues, use it as a teaching
tool or just have fun and make people laugh.
I always ask myself, "What if . . ." and then think of various scenarios. To
make an AV can take me a year, or just a day. I look for inspiration wherever
I think that I may find it. To stimulate my brain, I read a lot (even children's
books), listen to music, watch films, people, animals and nature. Many times
I am busy working on an AV, when the next idea comes to mind. If there are
times that I feel I cannot carry on with one AV, I leave it for a while until I feel
inspired to work on it again.
During the past few years I have had the pleasure to present some of my
Audio-Visuals at National Congresses. I have also been invited to judge
several National and International Salons and competitions. I currently hold
a Fellowship in Audio-Visual.
Roel and I are planning to travel through Europe and/or America next
year, but have not made definite plans yet. We always enjoy less touristy
routes and are looking at the best options.
Red Rock won an RPS Ribbon for the Best Humour Category at Cirencester.
