Ahead of the game….Literally, my shoulders are. Great session working with Alasdair for a few hours today, the plan - to go back to the fundamentals, look at the overall picture and find out what needs tweaking and ensuring that I then go on to practice the correct things in the right way. The opportunity to participate in a clinic with Justin Rose yesterday, seeing first-hand how effortlessly this world class player struck the ball, makes me even more determined to find my groove. S C R ATC H TO I got out there to warm up about half an hour before Alasdair arrived, one of the few people in this life that I am early for! I started off fairly well and hit most up and pretty straight. It’s not unheard of for me to pick up a club after a few weeks off and rattle a few along the ground. Today was the first time I had hit a ball for a couple of weeks and it has been months since the last lesson. I’m still focusing on trying to cure the over swing or arm fold – whichever way you want to look at it I’m losing Golfer Magazine | Page 38 power and wasting the energy I have created. I know this is due to going far too fast in the backswing, it’s still catching me out. I think slow but it is still far too fast.
