At the age of nine I had my first round of golf through my parents, we didn’t have it at school, It would have been nice to have that opportunity, the way they are doing it with foam balls and bigger soft clubs, making it fun, who wants to do it if it’s not made fun, it is our future of Scottish golf and we need more players up there in the world rankings and that’s the only way we are going to do it.” On talking about Clubs closing down like Lothianburn, “it’s very sad to see. I used to live near there at the age of 15. I nipped my dad’s head until he let me join so I could walk up and have a practice. I also remember when I was growing we played boys open in the summer holidays having to phone for late entries or we had forgotten to enter and they would be quite full, 7 or 8 kids playing these days and we had a full field, it’s a shame.
