‘ Dream and reality shape this rail tour of three of the great cities of Central Europe’

Prague, Vienna & Budapest

RAIL HOLIDAY
Start in Prague, reached by train or by air. Explore the beauty and elegance of the historic centre, with its cobbled streets and squares, medieval architecture, Baroque palaces and churches. Not to be missed are the Astronomical Clock dating from 1410, a Laterna Magika show and the old Jewish cemetery. Prague’ s rich cultural heritage can be experienced in visits to any number of museums in the city. Next, just over four hours by train, is Vienna. Fill your days with a mixture of galleries, museums, opera, concerts, or eating and drinking in a‘ Heuriger’. From Vienna, travel eastwards tracking the course of the River Danube to the city of Budapest. On the hill in Buda, there is 13th Century Matthias Church and the neo-Gothic and neo- Romanesque Fishermen’ s Bastion. Linking Buda to Pest is the magnificent 19th Century Chain Bridge. Pest is a city of wide boulevards, parks and gardens, and neo-Gothic state buildings. Fly back from Budapest or take the train back to London.
