I am very pleased to write this foreword for the Christmas 2018 WWETB Newsletter.

2018 has been a year of great development and growth for Waterford and Wexford Education Training Board (WWETB) and its constituent schools, centres and offices. The pace of change is something that we are all getting used to now and it is wonderful that you, one of our 1,600 staff, contribute so much in the line of positivity to our communities of Waterford and Wexford in that regard.
Our schools, centres and office staff have contributed greatly to this newsletter and I would encourage you to take time to read about the many significant and interesting developments taking place across all our schools and centres and the many great success stories that abound. Many of these ideas can be replicated across all of our services.
The past year has been very significant in the short history of WWETB with the first ever Strategy Statement 2018-2022 being published in July. This is the 5 year plan for the organisation and was developed as a result of extensive consultation with staff, Board members, learners, parents/guardians and external stakeholders.
The agreed Vision for WWETB is:
“WWETB aims to lead learning through the delivery of high quality, inclusive responsive and innovative education and training services in our community”.
